Illustration Friday - Wired

"Ok, so maybe that last coffee wasn't such a good idea...
And maybe it is weird to have wire butterflies hanging from the ceiling..."

(I was thinking about the way to show that it's night without making the picture too dark and the window (with the cat) was my husband's idea. I think it works :))

And I know some of the butterflies should have shadows somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

Ewa:Bardzo mi się podoba Twój obrazek. Jest taki delikatny i wprowadza miły nastrój. Ciekawa kompozycja.Przytulnie
i optymistycznie wygląda smuga światła, cień kota zza okna, kaczka wystająca spod kołdry. Bardzo ciepłe klimaty.

I like the perspective and the light in this piece. You were very successful in achieving the right mood and feel with the shadows and colors. I also like the shadow of the cat on the window, that was a nice touch. :-)
I am always a bit insecure about where to place my shadows, I guess the shadows for the butterflies could go on the wall?

  8. Just lovely. I know the feeling, but I think with those wire beauties hanging above, one would soon be lulled to sleep.

  9. I have so many nights like this. If I am actually in my bed and not painting, I am lying awake thinking about painting and life and staring at the butterflies hovering over my bed. ;-)

Love the mood you have captivated here. This is a well thought out illustration. Sweet.

    Beautiful atmospheric piece, Tusen!

I love the shadow of the cat [it creates a nice element of suspense] and the butterflies floating through the image [ it gives a feeling of an overlay wallpaper pattern and also the symbolic meaning.] Love it!

I love everything about this one. The perspective, all the details (the yellow duck, the butterflies) and the lighting - shadow of cat in the window help set the mood wonderfully. The tone and color are very peaceful which nicely offsets her expression. Great Job! I too discovered that a late coffee (for me that's after 5pm) is a BAD idea.

This is fantastic! I love the light and cat. The piece as a whole is soothing. But, moonlight shining in can get the mind alerted.

"Jestem dokładnie w tym samym miejscu, którym jeszcze nie byłem." ... powiedz prosze o co chodzi :) szukam odpowiedzi cały wieczór i najwyraźniej tępa jestem (a google, moje guru, tez nie wie... ;) )

  23. y. - google Ci nie podpowie, bo to tekst NKMK. Niestety teraz już żadne z nas nie pamięta, co dokładnie miał na myśli, ale wtedy to miało sens. W każdym razie "to samo miejsce" było gdzieś w Oblivionie.

  25. This is adorable! I like the idea of wire butterflies-- especially if you filled the wings with a soft chiffon or even crepe paper... Little girls would love that!

no pięknie więc. a wiesz ile a międzyczasie znalazłam do tego odpowiedzi? ;);)

    niemniej jest to inspirujące.

a rysunki (i koty, koty, jeszcze raz koty) takie. hmmm, zwiewne. (pozytywnie, ma się rozumieć). to pierwsze okreslenie, jakie przychodzi mi na myśl. zwiewne, a nie ulotne. o, tak właśnie.
